Why publish with Spire Publishing?

Spire Publishing was established with a simple philosophy. To provide writers with a highly cost-effective means of turning their manuscript into a published book. Our aim is to make authors successful.

Spire Publishing is owned and run by a team of people from the UK and Canada. We've been in the publishing business since 2002 - we started out when one of our owners wanted to publish a cookery book as a Christmas present for his family and could not find a suitable service. Since that date we have published hundreds of books for authors in the UK, the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.

As an owner operated business there are a couple of things we don't have. We don't have shareholders we need to keep happy, we don't have venture capital to pay back and we don't owe a single penny to the bank. We don't even have an 'exit strategy'. We like books, we like reading them, designing them, selling them.

We are aware of our environmental and social responsibilities and strive to be as good a corporate citizen as we possible can be. For example, our website and all of our files are hosted on carbon neutral servers.

Our books are manufactured locally in the USA and the UK, not in low wage countries overseas. This reduces the amount of fossil fuel needed to deliver your book to the book trade and to readers. It also safeguards and creates jobs in our communities. Last but not least, it allows us to continually monitor the high quality of our books.

In addition to the above, we work electronically wherever possible, writing, editing or proofing. Using print-on-demand for printing your book means minimal waste - we never have to destroy perfectly good books just because they have been superseded by a new edition and we don't have returns.
